The Story of Jeremiah Dore(The beginning of The Jerky Outlet) There once was a young man named Jeremiah Dore. See, Jeremiah was a mountain man who hailed from Jasper Alberta Canada. Very far from any city or any town. Jeremiah had very little contact with the public other than the Indians from Northern Canada and the Eskimo from Alaska. Over the years Jeremiah became a very successful hunter, trapper and fisherman. But he was known most of all for his jerky, smoked jerky that is. Jeremiah made the finest mouth watering jerky in all of northern Canada. He specialized in elk, venison and buffalo. With just the right spices he could make your toes tingle. He started making other kinds of jerky like his famous hot and spicy, honey glazed BBQ and peppercorn jerky, including all kinds of beef and turkey jerky. Then one day he thought, "What about fish?" So in his mountain home he also started smoking salmon, whitefish/herring and trout. Then one day all 48 United States had heard about Jeremiah's famous jerky and there was a very great demand. So Jeremiah packed his things and with his mule, Manord, headed to Northern Michigan. He found a beautiful place near what we now call the Bay City area. There he opened the first Jerky Outlet. Today we still smoke our jerky the same way Jeremiah did all those years ago. We now make shelf stable jerky in all of your favorite flavors.
